New UC Transferable Courses - Effective Fall 2007

Lower Division Transfer Pattern (LDTP)/TCSU

A CSU initiative that will present potential transfer students with what CSU is describing as the most efficient path to a bachelor’s degree from the CSU. The LDTP project will provide a set of “road maps” for students to follow that will ensure appropriate academic preparation and will decrease time to graduation once LDTP students enter the CSU. CSU is also introducing a new common course numbering system (TCSU) based on course descriptors designed to support the LDTP. Generally speaking this new numbering system (TCSU) will be replacing CAN. However, the application of TCSU will be confined (at least for now) to LDTP and not general articulation. CSU is currently working with CCC to articulate courses for TCSU.
Expected date of LDTP implementation: Unknown.

SCIGETC

IMPAC project has produced the SciGETC curriculum plan to prepare students in high-unit science majors to transfer from community colleges to four-year institutions so that they may begin upper-division coursework in their respective majors in a timely fashion and defer two lower division general education courses; and endorsed the SciGETC curriculum plan and sent it to each segment’s academic senate for adoption (SCIGETC Proposal)
